Annandale

Restoration of facade

This large terrace developed a significant problem with dry rot infesting the beam that supports the first floor balcony and wrought iron railing. Careful propping was required while the beam was repaired. Original decorative details were reproduced in timber and reinstated in keeping with neighbouring properties. The finished work was then painted and made waterproof.

When problems develop in old houses like ours, you never know how bad it’s going to be. Chris explained clearly what the issues were and what was needed to fix it. What could have been a big drama with the iron having to be removed turned into a manageable job. We’re pleased with the result.
